Optia Incorporated offers a number of services to those with disabilities.

Accommodation

Information about Optia's accommodation support for its clients.

Optia has 14 group homes providing support to clients with a range of disabilities across the southern region and in Burnie.

Optia supports individual clients with complex needs on an individual basis.

Optia has a transition house where clients learn independent living skills that will assist them to move to more independent options.

Optia currently has 12 units where clients live independently with minimal; support in some basic areas of need.

Optia provides support for around 60 clients on a tenancy support basis in several regions, from a minimum of two hours per week.

Over the past eighteen months Optia has developed a very successful friendship/leisure program in Burnie and Wynyard (Gogetters and Trendsetters) to support clients living independently to have a social life.

Optia has a respite unit for short term respite, based in Hobart.


Future Plans

An extension of respite is planned over the next twelve months, along with the development of an additional transition house and seven independent units. It is anticipated that the development will be completed by April 2008.
